Economics isn't a science, any more than feminist gender study is a science. It's a social theory

That changes nothing. The only good part of economics is mathematical modelling, because, and how surprising is this, math actually works, unlike social theory. The social theory of macroeconomics and microeconics has failes again and again to provide both descriptive, positive prescriptive or predictive results.

I don't blame economists. Psychologists fail too. The cognitive behavioral therapies, and other methods, are hardly any better than brain lobotomy. Read the stats. It's just infeasible to model human society like a bunch of actors on a planet.
