is true, then by the same logic I am allowed do this:

2x+2x*2
4*x*2 (doing addition before multiplication - same as [-3*sqrt(2) - 2*sqrt(2) = -5*sqrt(2); essentially doing -3-2 as I am doing 2+2 here - analogous)
For x=3
4*3*2 = 12*2 = 24

but
2x+2x*2
For x=3
2*3+2*3*2
6+12=18
