OK, lets take a look at some of the other professions that help people. How often do you hear a policeman bragging about how serving society makes him God? How often do you hear about a fireman bragging about how much lives he saves and how that makes him better than everyone else in the universe? Do you ever hear a bus driver say some melodramatic shit like the fact that he has the fate of all his passengers lives on his hands because if he falls asleep at the wheel or something he kills them all potentially?

No.

You know the only profession of the bunch that help people that can't just can't shut the fuck up about helping people?

Doctors.

You know the only profession of the bunch that help people that has the largely unwarranted superiority complex and inflated ego?

Doctors.

Because if you ask a premed why he wanted to become a doctor, he'll probably reply with the fucking buzzword I WANNA HELP PEOPLE. Then ask him why didn't he or she go into charity instead, join UNICEF and feed malnourished kids across the globe or something. You don't need to be a doctor to help people...

So guess the real reason why that person wants to become a doctor. HINT: It has nothing to do with helping people. That's just something they say to cover up their true intentions.

But what's really telling is the way they say it. They say it because they want the attention and respect. Helping people gets you no respect unless you are a doctor and that's what they're really after.

Doctors are just so selfless right? Taking other people's lives above society's opinion of them. I've never met a doctor who wasn't a humble servant, who wouldn't take the wage and respect of a janitor if it meant to be able to save more people's lives!
