This post sent me down a rabbit hole, because I was going to say a better image would have been glushko or korolev (but I couldn’t remember which of the two was actually responsible for the idea of hot staging)
And in my quick research I found out Glushko was thrown into Butyrka prison in 1938. This is very early. But I can’t find any sources stating why exactly he was rounded up by the NKVD.
