Ok so I understand how 0.99999999...=1

But why does 1+2+3+4+...=-1/12?

Shouldn't it equal infinity?

I see this on /sci/ often and want to know the math behind it.

1/3=0.333333.....

3 x 1/3 = 1

3 x 0.33333... = 0.999999....

therefore

0.99999.... = 1

I just proved 0.999.... = 1

prove me wrong faggots

enough with the trolling
