What would you call the degree outlined here: http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/sci/dcs/admissions/undergraduate/dmaths/

A lot of universities teach "Discrete Mathematics" as a B.sc. degree but the name varies. Some universities call it "Discrete Mathematics" others call it "Discrete mathematics and computer science" while even other call it "Discrete mathematics and theoretical computer science".

Now you do get the computer science B.sc. degree along with this degree so it's logical to call it "Discrete mathematics and computer science" but understandably, students who study mathematics (like those who study this degree) would like to distance themselves from computer science in the form of their degree being a mathematics degree, even though it relies on theoretical computer science.

I realize not a lot of people are interested in this, but I'm a Discrete mathematics student and I would like my degree to be known as a mathematics degree, not a computer science degree, even though I make use of computer science in my studies.

Quick question: Why is a number raised to a negative power the reciprocal of that number to the same positive power?
