The problem is, when you create a pest resistant tomato by splicing in the gene that forms a waxy cockroach wing then you may be introducing another toxin into the food supply of people who don't peel the skin of their tomatoes before cooking.

What's the difference? Any flouRIDE will disolve into flourine as being part of it's ionic component.

/sci, help me.

I'm a /kommando and I want to learn hard sciences to become a more wholesome man.

But I barely even remember my high school algebra. Could you please point to some online resources (websites, videos, etc) so I can learn mathematics and science?

Pic not releated

So /sci/ let's look at something from a biological perspective. There are many things that live and a good number of things will will kill harm or void said living things.

Foot odor is produced by the waste of bacteria that are active body flora, now I know baking soda will render shows and such as a harmful environment to said bacteria. But are their other things that can be used? I am wondering if certain formulas of anti bacterial soap or disinfectant would be good ammo.

I even wonder if something as simple as purell would kill off the little buggers.

I need your help /sci/ guys.
a little chemistry homework never hurts.

1. You have two 500.0 mL aqueous solutions. Solution A is a solution of a metal nitrate. The
compound is 8.246% N and 28.25% O. The metal forms only a +1 ion in solution. The ionic
compound in Solution B consists of potassium, chromium, and oxygen. The chromium has an
oxidation state of +6. There are 2 potassiums and 1 chromium in the formula. The masses of the
solutes in each solution are the same. When the solutions are added together, a blood-red
precipitate forms. After the reaction has gone to completion, the solid is dried and weighed. It
has a mass of 331.8 g.

a) Identify the ionic compound in Solution A.

b) Identify the ionic compound in Solution B.

c) For the reaction, write the formula equation, the complete ionic equation, and the net ionic
equation. Name the red precipitate.

d) Calculate the concentration (in molarity) of all ions in the original solutions.

This is driving me insane, and the only response I got from my prof was "Because you can't do it" so here I go:

When adding two different sized Matrices, why is it undefined? I don't understand whats stopping you from going:
| 1 2 | | 1 2 3 | | 2 3 3 |
| 2 3 | + | 1 1 1 | = | 3 4 1 |
| 4 1 | | 0 1 0 | | 4 2 0 |

any help would be awesome, thanks

Any physics undergraduate or graduate students in here?

I've got a problem, I'm currently a physics undergrad junior and I have no idea what the fuck I want to do with my life specially when it comes to Physics. I have tons of emotional/psychological issues which have been holding me back since the high school and therefore I've had 0 motivation with the University and my performance went downhill ever since, not because i'm not capable but because I lack motivation due to my personal life issues.

How did you guys decided you wanted to go into it? What motivates you?

I guess, general people (other majors) could post their experiences as well.

Thanks.

""Scientists are neither noblemen nor freemen in their society. Unless they are able to achieve some outstanding recognition, they must remain second-class professionals. The role of the scientist lacks social prestige, for the majority merely become servants of businessmen and politicians.

It is high time that the general public gave more consideration to the question of how much influence scientists should have in the determination of social policy and action. In this connection the term ``scientist'' includes technologist and engineer. Scientists, as a group, have proved themselves to be the most trustworthy and humanitarian of any group in society, as well as the most competent. They rate a role in determining the affairs of society far above any yet accorded them -- a role far more significant than that of mere advisers to non-scientific decision makers.""

Why the hell haven't you sci/ been able to bring about a new system of government? Instead, become the bitches and whores of business and politics, begging for money like pieces of shit you are for research.

What would feature in your list of the top 5 scientific achievements/inventions/discoveries of the past 100 years? Well okay, since 1900, for uniformity sake.
Surely the moon landing on top.
