Do you think Modern Europeans just popped out of nowhere? Why do you think variations exist among them then?
I will give a brief explanation, you can look up details for yourself. Europe around 8000 yrs ago before Farming was discovered was inhabited by "Western Hunter Gatherers". These were dark skinned but light eyed people (Look up Cheddar man). Then when Farming was discovered, Farmers from Anatolia moved into Europe and replaced and mixed somewhat with the Western Hunter gatherers. These people then we call "Early European Farmers". Southern Europeans have larger descent from these people. (Look up Sardinians, modern Sardinians are almost 80% descended from them). Then, from the pontic Caspian steppe, as a result of mixture of "Caucusus Hunter gatherers" from modern day Iran and " Eastern hunter gatherers" from modern day Russia, you got the "Western Steppe herder" people. (Other names they may be called are Aryans or Yamnaya or Proto Indo-European). These people then invaded Europe and replaced and mixed with the locals again. The replacement was more thorough in the North, where Nordics derive almost half their ancestry from these guys, whereas Southern Italians only about 20%.
So Europe is mainly a mixture of three populations that existed around 6000 BC. The Western hunter gatherers, the Early European Farmers and the Western Steppe Herders. And these populations themselves were a mix of older populations like Ancient North Eurasians, Basal Eurasians etc. And they themselves mixtures of even older populations, and so on. Humans even mixed with Neanderthals once you go back far enough.

This is true for every population, not just Europe. Almost all populations are derived from a mixture of many ancient populations. There is an entire field of "Archaeogenetics" that works to figure this stuff out. And the word for populations mixing and creating new populations is "ethnogenesis". Point is, everybody is a mongrel.
