/sci/, I beg you: Please stop saying "Gravity is just a Theory" when you're in an argument with someone about the Theory of Evolution.

I know you are saying it to address people who think "Theory" means guess, not understanding that a Theory means something different in science and is the strongest label a scientific hypothesis can ever have.
The problem is that there is no "Theory of Gravity". Gravity is a phenomenon described by other Theories, such as the Theory of General Relativity; it is not a theory in itself. You mean well, but when you make that argument you're just embarrassing yourself.

So please, instead bring up Plate Tectonics or The Germ Theory of Disease instead when you make that argument. Both still serve for the "well accepted fact that is still called a Theory because Theory has a specific meaning meaning in science" criteria. Germ Theory in particular is useful due to being Biological Natural Science like Evolution is.

I don't mean this as a "Religion vs. Science Thread", as those belong in /pol/. I'm just begging you to not say "Gravity is just a Theory" when you're in one of those debates.
