fair enough. I've got a couple other projects to work on today, so this will take a while.

first I need to prepare the amalgam. Dry amalgam is less than 50% mercury, it doesn't flow. I need to add some mercury to the mixture until it forms a paste of the proper consistancy.

notice that I will be working with gloves for the first part. touching mercury is relatively safe, but microscopic particles will stick to the skin and need to be washed off. If not washed, they can find their way into nose and lungs, resulting in more significant poisoning. I don't mind the little bit of mercury that passes through skin, but I get tired of going through the decon washes to remove inhalation hazards.
