Hi, /sci/!
I come to you with a more of a "brain science" problem.
I have no idea how to sum this up as a term nor do I know the word for it since it's such a vague concept for me at this point and I really don't have a clue as to how should I look it up.

I'm sure most of you experienced this but many aren't aware of it.
Do you know that feeling you get in your fingertips and fingers like a surge of "smooth but instant pain" when you know that the next instant you are about to drop something from your hand or like when you slip and you're about to fall, the moment you realize this that sort of pain starts surging through your hands and up to your fingertips while you lose some strength in your hands.
This feeling goes by quickly and it usually only lasts for a few seconds.

I don't know how else to put it in words but I did a bit of thinking and I think it must be some sort of defense mechanism of the brain which knows something is about to happen and is trying to tell you "hey man, watch out", but that doesn't really seem right.

Anyone has a clue as to what I'm talking about?
