Will this work as a weapon? Could a trooper use such a device to punch through a tank?

Or will Newton kick his ass?

So I recently had a discussion about superheroes with a pal and one thing that kept coming up was stuff like "impenetrable supersuits" that can withstand any bullets while being elastic.

So I did the math:

I assumed the inpenetrable suit combined with human flesh and boine would allow the bullet to penetrate 1 cm deep into the body (which is far) and decelerate completely.
The average M16 rifle accelerates a 4gramm 5.56 NATO round to 980 m/s
doing rough approximations (this is very rough I know) i figured the bullet would have a kinetic energy of 3.92 J and enact a force of 392 Newtons upon a body.

now my research has not turned up anything on the force the standard human rib or spinal-column (which was the center of the discussion)

can anyone come up with some data on this?

if a stopped charged particle accelerates in my direction then stops, what kind of radiation would I perceive?
I cant imagine it right.
At some point I must sense the electrical field pointing to me increased, as the particle is now closer to me. But as radiation oscilates perpendivular to propagation, I cant picture how will this wave come to me and how I'm goind to see the field during time.

I'd like some diagram if possible.

Good evening /sci/.

I am developing my own "stealth" RC aircraft. My goals are low RCS, IR, and visual signatures. I plan on mounting a small 5mp still image camera onto the bottom of the fuselage to secretly take aerial photographs of my home and the surrounding areas.

The aircraft will either be remotely controlled by an FPV camera or by open source UAV hardware, such as Ardupilot.

In order to get the plane and its components aloft, I will need to devise the most beneficial airframe design for the goal of efficient flight and "stealthyness"

1. Low Profile. I can achieve this by experimenting with popular airfoils for this scale (KF airfoils, etc) in order to maintain as small of a wing area as possible while promoting stable and long flight.

2. Durable and Stealth Materials. Commonly found in scale flyers of this type is EPP or Depron foam. This is fine in usually all cases, however the radar absorption is likely to be minimal. I will need to research this.

3. Dependable Electronics. Popular UAV software/hardware combos are easily found online, and are fully customizable. Getting the full potential of these systems should be of high priority. Although more attention intensive, an FPV setup will allow for a more immerse flight experience than the automated option. The practicality of FPV in an "innawoods" situation is likely low.

Before we start, let me elaborate thusly - I am, mathematically speaking, an ill educated peon without proper grasp of correct maths. Most of my knowledge is of the art persuasion, and literary. But I come to you now humbly, with help for a conundrum.

I'm in the midst of planning a novel or several, based on a near future thats been fucked up by the creation of a poorly controlled Seed A.I that, when asked to solve the worlds problems of fuel shortages, the division between first and third world, the resolution of the rift between religion and science, solved the issue by ruining everyones day with heavy weapons. Its a bit more subtle than the usual 'oh noes, A.I are evulz' storyline, but thats not what I'm talking about here. I'm starting to wonder about what weapons it would use.

I wanted non nuclear, non biological. So, I moved on to to the only alternative I could come up with, kinetic force weapons.

Here is the concept I imagined - a 250+ terajoule rail system from orbit, firing a ceramic coated sabot round of appropriate heavy density (steel/tungsten alloy probably), and probably about 20-30 tonnes. The impact is, I think, in the mid megaton range (without nuclear fallout). And probably fired into faultlines of continents.

The reason I like this system is because its non nuclear, has almost zero intercept probability, and is suitably future material. But I'm wondering what powers it, and, because of my math ignorance, what I've missed on it.

For a start, I'm thinking the amount of shots of a satellite orbital array would be limited. Probably even just one. And they would not have too many, unless getting something like this into space would be easy (I doubt it).

Please, I beg you. What do you think of such a concept, and can you help me fill in the gaps?
