How do I stop going crazy and giving up whenever I get stuck on work?

it feels that whenever summer hits i can't really focus on anything scholastic and just piss it away trivial shit. i've already burned through over a month of my summer break and haven't done anything other than play video games and sleep past 12pm.

the worst part is that i just finished my junior year and have no internships, and haven't even taken the GRE.

Hypothetical question: If there exist intelligent life forms with technology tens of thousands of years ahead of us, what would make them want to have anything to do with us?

I've come to /sci/ because you guys are my last hope.

Just about to finish my first year in university. TBH my grades are not too bad, mostly A's and B+'s. But I know I could do much, much better if I stop slacking off and adopt better studying methods.

How do you study efficiently? How do you keep yourself motivated and not procrastinate?
