Unhappiness is normal and controllable

Nigeria, one of the most unfair countries out there, has the most "happy" people in the world, not because they live properly, but because they have great empathy with others.

Most of the feeling that you will have on the day is created in the morning, so do something fullfilling in the morning and the rest of the day will be fine

Create stuff, rather than consume stuff. Try arts or music, or even try to write free poems for the heck of it.

One of the keys is that 99% of your life you will be dealing with your own thoughts and the image of your thoughts over things. Life is very dream-like, you just sweep your attention over things and that attention grabs awareness and elements, search for what's good and your will come proper to that. Search lucid dreams and awareness.

When unhappy you will see that all your life is unhappy, it's because you over-react about what will happen in the future or the past. Same applies when you are really happy, it seems like always you were like that, it's a continuum.

Most importantly, don't make a big deal about it, it's just normal, part of our existance and shit.

Why in God's name would you want to live forever?

In your DNA you have these things called telomers. Every time a cell replicates it makes a complete copy of the DNA to go into the daughter cell, but for reasons that would be too long to discuss here, the cell's machinery for replication is incapable of completely replicating an entire strand. Each time a few base pairs get left out at the end. Since you have billions of base pairs in your DNA, this is of little consequence, but theoretically if you lived long enough you wouldn't have any DNA left after some great unknown number of cell divisions. Of course your body would stop functioning long before then but that is one of the main theories behind aging.

The body is a very delicate and complex machine, it's a miracle that a living thing composed of millions of cells functions at all, let alone is capable of some of the shit our bodies are capable of like surviving for 80+ years. That's actually a very long time compared to most life on this earth, be grateful you weren't born anything other than a human being and enjoy the short life you have.
If you want to find a way to live forever, find a religion that suits your fancy.
