itt: times teachers trolled you

>be in second grade
>doing a sheet on facts vs opinion
>have to label each statement as one or the other
>"everyone likes John's shirt"
>label it as fact
>teacher marks me wrong
>try to explain that the statement "everyone likes john's shirt" is an objective statement that is either true or not true
>but I'm fucking 8 and can't explain it that way
>all I can say is "but if everyone likes John's shirt then it's fact"
>Teacher keeps saying "no, it's still just everyone's opinion"
>argue for like five minutes going around in circles, she starts talking to me like I'm stupid
>give up
>still pisses me off today and I'm 22

[02:25] <@JAM> so if matter can't exist in a universe-less area, is that an invisible wall or will it just disintegrate.

Talking about the edge of the universe.

So?

do you ever feel an overwhelming sense of sorrow when you consider the nature of our universe

it's such an amazing place, but ultimately cold, lonely, and desolate. we will never be in contact with alien species due to the problems of time and distance. what's worse, the tyranny of physical law dictates that we will all die, that humanity will die, and that finally the entire universe, everything that has ever existed or will ever exist, will eventually be gone, dissipated into nothingness.

existence will snuff itself out and there is nothing any of us can do to stop it.

chemical engineering major here (inb4 gay), thinking about taking a minor in math because I only need two extra classes for it. I have a few options, what does /sci/ recommend?

Introduction to combinatronics
Introduction to abstract algebra
Introduction to real analysis
College geometry
Theory of numbers
Linear algebra
Mathematical statistics I

I take elementary linear algebra as part of my major, apparently the class listed above is "real" linear algebra, whatever that means.

If a pregnant woman were to eat a diet without any carbon in it, would the child still be a carbon based organism?
