I take a forecasting class. Stochastic processes. Stochastic processes everywhere.

Seriously, its a challenge to even beat the "naive" model in economic forecasting. That's pretty pathetic.

Consider that the cost function C(x) is defined as the cost of producing x units of a commodity and the marginal cost is the derivative of C'(x).

The marginal cost of producing x computer chips (in units of 1,000) is C'(x)=150x²-3000x+17,500 (dollars per thousand chips).

a) Find the cost of increasing production from 10,000 to 15,000 chips
b) Determine the total cost of producing 15,000 chips, assuming that C(0)=35,000 (initial fixed cost)
