Its observable that people presenting alternative narratives, even those who innocently make scientific findings which disagree with the 'consensus' on any controversial topic are shut down and often violently head hunted. Even trying to conduct unbiased research that may potentially in the eyes of 'the majority' make some inconvenient findings is a career ender.
Now this alone, regardless of whether the 'consensus' is factually right or wrong, should trouble everyone. But clearly it doesn't and this rejection of pure scientific process in favor of popular bandwagoning would be highly suggestive of a prevailing ideological and unscientific agenda.
If it is true that the 'majority' has this agenda then its not hard to argue that controversial issues may be standing on unstable and disingenuous foundations.

I think when someone is at the point where they want to horribly mutilate their own body then there obviously is a clear cut case for the presence of mental illness.
Similarly, when someone is suffering from the complete and utter delusion that they are someone other then who they actually are, its hard to deny mental illness.

The only difference between transgenderism and any other mental illness of a similar nature is politics, it would be hard for most people to deny this. Even if they think there is evidence that shows transgenderism is not mental illness, most should be able to recognise that its been politics, not evidence that has separated the two things in the mainstream.

Here is what I know from reading anecdotes about people at Cambridge university. Remember in the UK it's unusual to switch major. Also remember that everyone in cambridge has almost equally perfect high school grades.

People who are failing maths get put in to physics, engineering, or CS.

People who are failing physics get put in to chemistry.

A guy who had 20-something A levels (or some other ridiculous number; most people do 3 or 4) was doing badly at CS and was put in to politics.

People who do badly at medicine or chemistry get put in to biology.

Do you think this represents the true heirarchy of intelligence needed for subjects?
