Sage has long since changed from a way of posting in a thread without bumping it to a way of expressing disapproval. Most of the /b/tards don't even know why they post sage, they just do so because they've seen others do it.

4chan is never going to be a place to have a civil discussion about science... if you want a board like that there are literally hundreds all over the net. /sci/ is a place to post shitty memes and troll people... it's basically /b/ but with science jokes and trolling instead of more random ones.

Enjoy the threads you like, hide the threads that annoy you and when you want to seriously discuss science go else where. Let the kiddies have their fun. Posting meta threads like this is not only against board rules but it's also feeding the trolls.
