Why am i a /pol/tard just because I want to be able to go back to my normal life once I am vaccinated? I'm not even anti-vax. I am willing to take this shit, but fucking WHAT is the point if being vaccinated still doesn't mean I can't stop socially distancing or mask wearing? Are we just meant to suffer these restrictions forever because there might still be a small risk of covid?

This stuff is pretty common though. These are just a couple examples, but I've lost count of the amount of thinkpieces from journalists and proclamations from "health experts" that say things to the effect of "we will never go back to normal". It seems like an unnecessarily aggressive and depressing line to take, and I feel like doctors in particular would only say such miserable things if they genuinely believed them to be true. So, do they?

It doesn't matter what you do, you're not getting your freedom back without a fight. Authoritarians never willingly give back power once they have it. They will keep make excuses to move the goal posts of freedom back a bit more. Most people will go along with it because they think it's just a little bit more and then it will all be over. Instead, the goal posts just get moved again and again and again. You will never again be free. At least not until there is blood spilt.
