You can sort of use two layers of bag (one whole bag). It's not as good as proper eclipse glasses but it's actually in the right spec. I used one ten or so years ago during a partial eclipse.

Pinhole projection is good too. Don't forget to notice the shade from trees; all the little spots of light will become crescents during partial eclipse.
