What does /sci/ think of synthetic meat?

Personally, I'm on the fence about it.
On the one hand it seems like a cool idea.
On the other hand it seems really pointless considering that we already have a perfectly good way of making meat.

What do you think?

What does /sci/ think of cultured meat?

Will it be competitive some day? And will customers accept it?

I see "morals" playing no role in this game.
Humans are a growing population and normal meat harvesting is horribly inefficient (and people don't stop bitching about how "cute" some of the living meat sacks are).
Mass meat grown in tanks, engineered to be as nutritious and tastey as we fucking want is the future.
1. Buy building.
2. Buy meat cultures+proper tools and staff to harvest.
3. Throw sugar at it.
4, ????
5. PROFIT!
