In which subjects do you have a unique perspective to see and solve problems?
Why don the othersons fail?

Hi /sci/.

I need help with a project at school. We are going to have a scientific investigation involving something natural, and it has to have empiric values (measurable values).

So can some of you creative and intelligent people at /sci/ help me come up with a project?

This book is 200$ new at school. Should I trust these guys? They're based in malaysia so I'm in doubt.

I'm excited about spacex

However there is something I do not understand.

Elon Musk seems rather dismissive of Reaction Engine's technique for lowering the quantity of fuel you need to put into orbit (I recently watched the Astronomical Royal society video on youtube he was at a couple of days/weeks ago, and it came up). Their idea was to have a rocket engine capable of using oxygen as it goes up, only switching to its oxygen supply once there's no 'free' oxygen to be had. This seems like a sound principal, every gram counts after all, and Elon Musk is all about lowering the amount of stuff you need to carry up there.

Any explanation?

Can you show me how to do this problem? A car travels 90 meters before stopping and the coefficient of friction between the road and tires is .5 estimate the speed of the car when the brakes were applied.

I post on /sci/ enough to consider creating a tripcode for at least this board. I wonder if this is a good idea, but I get annoyed when people mistake someone else's inane and usually shallow arguments for my own in a debate.

does anybody have information regarding the general reception of tripfags here on /sci/? or if not, what is your opinion?

generally I dislike them, or maybe I just dislike EK, but that could be just me.

Hello /sci/
I'm looking for cool mind tricks to do on people, not anything too fancy... But I don't need those memory shit that's been in our e-mails since 02... Thought that, maybe, someone could help or point me in some direction?

The plasma shield created on entry cuts off communications, and any external cameras would have been destroyed or would have caused unneeded liability.

any "video from the curiosity" at this point is just made up bullshit.

There is no textbook in any library that can help you?

What kind of module is this?

Or do you mean you weren't prescribed a textbook? If not, you should go out of your way and find one for your subject.

@The Juices of Lemons

If you're a UK-fag, then you should know that there is *huge* inefficiencies in the UK housing market that inhibit house prices reacting to supply and demand.

1. The zone regulations are extremely strict. There are vast areas of land in cities around the UK which are under the thumb of the local councils. It's not that they actually own all of it, it is that they prevent land being bought and sold in these areas, making them the defacto landlords in these areas, which is outrageous.

2. The central government is subsidising enormous amounts of housing, mostly via welfare mechanisms.

The implications of this are difficult to understand, but try to follow as best you can:

a) government pays private contractors to build houses.
b) poor people rent the houses at cheap prices.
