Retard here. So obviously (r-h)^2 + x^2 = r^2. But why can't we differentiate this equation? If you do, you get something wrong that says when h = r, dx/dt = 0

Is the "many worlds" part of the MWI necessary? MWI is a minimalist interpretation. Its basic postulate is "the wavefunction (or quantum state) is le real". Then there's a (il)logical leap to "a superposition IS many worlds" i.e. many coexistent realities. But how do we know that? We don't. In fact, the idea that a state is a superposition isn't even basis-independent. The "many worlds" part of MWI is nonsensical to me. What should a macroscopic quantum state "look like"? I don't know, but I don't see why it needs to look like multiple coexisting realities ("many worlds"). Maybe I'm misunderstanding something...
