It’s actually because of light that we prefer light skin. Firstly, pale skin is just easier to see, and so darker skin gives a sense of uneasiness the harder it is to see you, say, during the evening, but generally, at all times of day. When pale skin is seen it’s seen more as a treasure and valuable by the brain because of this softness to the eyes. Second, darkness is seen by the brain as fecal matter and unclean, perhaps not consciously in the words but dark skin triggers the brain into feeling repulsed similarly like someone might be when seeing maggots. This is also why darker skin is seen as more beast like, because the skin is seen as a lower form of existence, which to many people unconsciously then can be engaged via manner of beastiality. Finally, pale skin is rather rare. Regardless of ethnicity to find someone pale in your race is not prevalent, and so value is seen by light skin being scarce. This is also why, say Sweden, partly has a racial fetish for blacks, because they are very rare in Scandinavia and so are seen as exotic. Bring a White person to Africa and it is the same thing, no knowledge of White or Black necessary, just the rarity itself becomes a commodity. These are not cultural mechanisms, but biological reactions. Hope this helps if you want to research the reasoning, you can go much more precise and scientific about it if you desire.
