No.
Please please please do not listen to these people about going to a cc to save money. All you really do is waste time, especially if you want a science degree, which I assume since you applied to Caltexh
Ccs are a big mistake, college isn’t just about the classes, but having access to upper diction students and teachers so you can ask around about your major, plus all your easy classes get front loaded making your last two years over worked compared to all the people who went straight there,
Plus you will be around a bunch of high school slackers in your courses which dumb down and slow down the material, also you lose most of your friends when you transfer, and you have a lot less time to make connections for jobs, and the teachers get to know you less. And often cc students still love at home so they don’t grow up, and a bunch of other things.
There is a lot of other stuff I am leaving out,
Please please do not go to a cc if yo got into 4 years out of high school, even a state school 4 year is a better choice.
If you get a marketable degree, which you should, in 10 years the money saved won’t matter much. And trust me it will take at least an extra year going cc then transfer, at the cc there willl always be some class you need that is full and at the 4 year there will always be some class they make you retake, no matter what they say before you transfers
