the modern hiring process is an unmitigated disaster. the amount of specialized training and certifications needed to work the dumbest jobs, and the subsequent desirability of long-term commitments, has been occasioned by the steadily growing importance of complex machinery. there is no going back and it is only getting worse.

no i will not be doing my 25th interview tomorrow for a job im violently overqualified for, i give up. i will laugh as you wait half an hour in the Microsoft Teams call for me to join and i will not stop laughing since that time. i will not pretend to play your games anymore. i will be using my engineering skills exclusively to destroy society. i will not be paying back the loan you gave me to teach me these skills either
