You have to get a Gulfstream II, deploy its rear landing gear, and set the thrusters to full fucking reverse just to simulate the glide ratio of the Shuttle at subsonic speeds, it was equivalent to a helicopter with engine failure. It fell out of the air, only saved by the fact it was traveling so fast they could pitch up and almost stall out over the runway in order to land safety.
