Hey /Sci/ never posted here before. I have read bits & pieces on Quantum physics and it is interesting shit. I have a question, what is the commonly accepted cause (if there is one) for the collapse of Wave Functions? Some people suggest that it is the observer that causes it. More specifically that it is their conscious mind somehow collapsing it. However, I read a book which suggested that when the observer tries to observe the wave function, the wave function collapses because the attempts to measure it expose it to becoming 'entangled' with the many wave functions that make up the macro world. It is 'lost' to the observer like a single card being shuffled into a pack.

TLDR - Quantum Physics, you scary.
