Yeah I have a HUGE problem with dark matter. Mainly the fact that I believe it is non-existent.

I UNDERSTAND (I think) the reason that dark matter is believed to exist is that when looking at galaxies rotations there is not enough mass (I think probably wrong) to account for the stars not flying out into space off the Galaxies. There needs to be ALOT more mass inside of galaxies to account for the additional gravity needed to keep galaxies together. And this is where we magically came up with "Dark Matter".

Please correct me if I am wrong here.

But surely there are MANY other avenues of investigation we could peruse before we start making up invisible things?

Dark Energy? Dark Matter? What the fuck is this "Matter"?

Is is Dark Hydrogen? Dark Electrons? Dark Protons? What is the MATTER part of the Dark Matter?

I personally do not think making up invisible objects is the best way to account for our lack of understanding of the theory of gravity on Galactic scales.
