Where do you draw the distinction between a thing's nature, inclination, and its "free will"? Is consciousness and "choices" anything more than just arrangements of chemicals, causality, and antecedence? If we re-created the same exact spatio-temporal arrangement of matter, the positions of atoms, and their velocities. Would it suddenly behave differently? Neurologically speaking. Where does free will end and "my ADHD/Tourette's syndrome/autism made me do it" "my addiction made me do it" "my chemical imbalance made me do it" begin? Point to the exact spot. Give me a number. Normies never seem to give you a straight answer. Either everything is free will or nothing is free will. Either all of our actions are determined by our brain chemistry or none of them are. There is no in between. Mentally ill people with their "chemical imbalances" aren't special.

>Atoms do this weird spinning thing sometimes. That means humans (and only humans) have free will.

Can someone explain this logic to me?

What if one day psychiatrists decided "this is what a depressed/schizophrenic/bipolar brain looks like"? What if you felt perfectly fine but your brain scan told you that you should be mentally ill? Would you start taking medicine? Would you check yourself into a mental hospital because you're suddenly a danger to yourself?

There's no biological argument supporting human "free will" (muh microtubules, muh quantum mechanics) that wouldn't also give free will to lobsters, snakes, cows, and robots.

What part of the brain does free will come from and would an exact clone of your brain make a different choice than you? That's like saying two computers produced the same exact way would be expected to operate differently.

How can you say people have free will and then say people's wills are determined by "chemical balances" at the same time? Either it's free or it's not. When and where does free will begin and end? Exactly how much dopamine and serotonin is needed or not needed for free will to exist?

Why do people's personality change after a brain injury? I'm not just talking about loss of brain function, such as reduced memory and cognition etc. But the actual personality. The likes and dislikes, the very deepest facets of their character, completely altered. All people who get the same type of brain injury end up getting the same new personality. What's up with that? According to free will supporters those things come from your soul not your brain.

Do brain damaged people have free will? Exactly how much of the brain needs to be damaged before free will stops existing? How many neurons need to exist for free will to exist? What is considered the "ideal brain that has free will" and how much do you have to deviate from it to not have free will?

Everything you say, think, or do is a result of neurons firing in your brain. Therefore free will is a lie. Everything you do in your life is nothing but reflexes determined by your brain chemistry and neurology. Choice is an illusion. "Control" is an illusion. If you have two copies of the same brain and give them the same exact stimuli both brains will make the same exact choices. Everything you do is a result of your brain and all the chemicals and neurotransmitters inside it. There is no magical source of willpower that tells everything what to do. It's all automatic. People do not exist independent of brain chemistry. How can there be free will if every thought is caused by a tiny component of our brain? Wouldn't each thought, idea, or action belong to the neuron that fired it?

What are the limits in one's capacity to learn?

How many subjects could one reasonably expect to learn up though at least an undergraduate level of understanding in their lifetime?

Of course, there are the time constraints. What about the "energy" or "emotional" constraints? Is it possible to constantly learn while avoiding "burning out," "losing focus," etc.? And what about physiological constraints? Is there a limit to how much information or understanding a human brain can store?
