Is IQ overrated?

Alright /sci/. I've done it.

I've dropped all my personal beliefs and goals in life. I want to submit myself to intellectualism through the use of scholarly books, articles, and so on. I don't want my ego to do anything besides read and learn.

As someone who has only touched integral calculus and linear algebra, where should I begin in the resources sticky? I don't have any real objective for what to learn I just want to read, but I don't want to do it arbitrarily and wind up with short lived understanding.
