How much of a change can you actually make in science as one person? Are you really needed anywhere? Is it better to pick something that you find fun rather than because you want something to be accomplished?

Is it worth getting into NLP as a hobby? I am interested in it but at the same time I feel like it's pointless when there are several companies with ivy league graduates and million dollar budgets working in the same field. Should I just sit back and wait for AI to improve?

How come there are people that like doing math and enjoy it more than say, playing video games?

If evolution is real then why there are no new species appearing? We hear so much about extinction of species, but if evolution were true new species would be created and extinction of some already existing wouldn't be a problem.
