The point of contention was that Galileo thought he had the right to declare Heliocentrism correct over other theories like Geoheliocentrism (that had less problems) without sufficient evidence to back it up solely because he liked it better. The church was right in calling him out on his arrogance.

>Galileo for example was placed under house arrest and almost killed for his support of heliocentrism

No, the church was an early supporter of heliocentrism and later geoheliocentrism. It was never about contradicting the bible (no one ever took genesis literally) but Galileo insisting that everyone follow his beliefs, which he had no proof for, and insulting those that didn't submit.

>if we're rotating around a big ass sun in a big ass solar system

No no no, the sun is rotating around the earth. The earth always stays still.

>The Earth does not have corners

That's a common idiom, don't you read any books? The sphericalness of the earth was established in the 3rd century BC, hundreds of years before the book of Revelation was written.

>the geocentric model of the universe, which is obviously wrong

It wasn't obvious at all. The heliocentric model implies a stellar parallax which wasn't measured until 1838. Meanwhile the geoheliocentric model provides the same predictive power that heliocentrism has but also explains the lack of a parallax of the stars. That is why it was favored for the model of solar system until there was better evidence to the contrary.

>implying Galileo affair had anything to do with stopping the theory
>implying Galileo didn't get permission to study heliocentrism from the pope
>implying Galileo could prove heliocentrism over geoheliocentrism/tychonic system
>implying declaring something a heresy prevents one from studying and evaluating it
