Is there some easy way to gauge what sort of guy my professors are in engineering? I am in a university in America with a lot of foreigner professors in the engineering courses (muzzies, indians, asians, etc) and I cannot ever tell what they think about me. For example, I have a professor in one of my circuits courses right now that is either fucking with me or is just so autistic he can't end a conversation.

I am bored out of my life
the lecturer spends a large chunk of the lectures talking about "le big important problems" just to give the illusion that introductory number theory is not incredibly dry
(as opposed to finishing in half the time)
the riemann hypothesis and andrew wiles sure are important to spend time on in an introductory course
