I did it the exact opposite way.

Fast yet comprehensive, listen to music, tv even, or a lecture if Im feeling cute. If there is a book at hand too its retarded (Bibliomamcy, single "random" word generator.)

...but I have to do that 24/7 with lots of repeats since Im partially paying attention to all of them but usually primarying one, so...more of a lifestyle thing.

Triple the time cost...but it counts as leisure, take 3-6 min breaks playing a phone game to 'recalibrate' perspective.

Go hard or die, or induce insanity and be unable to return to normalcy...
