Help /sci/, stuck on matlab

Trying to set initial conditions along a length (L) =1

e(x,0) = 0 for 0.00<= x < 0.25
e(x,0) = a for 0.25<= x <= 0.5
e(x,0) = a for 0.5< x <= 1

Pic is where I'm at so far, I can't get the syntax right
