IF you want more high quality discussions on /sci/, start more high quality discussions on /sci/.

People discuss the kinds of threads you complain about because that's what gets posted. If you want people to talk about something else, than make a thread for it.

What have you accomplished here?
Did you start a thread for people to ask questions or post advice on getting into research? No.
Did you start a thread for discussing incoming data from New Horizons? No.
Did you start a thread where people could discuss the historical significance of their favorite physicists? No.

You started a thread for the sole purpose of bitching about what other people are talking about.

So there seem to be quite a few /sci/borgs who deny the identity 1 = 0.999....
Quick inquiry for you esteemed individuals:
in your estimation, what percentage of mathematicians agree with you in your skepticism?

(Let's stipulate that a 'mathematician' is someone with a mathematics degree from an accredited college or university).

My normal fapping habit is 2-3 times a day (every other day). But I've been trying to experiment with this, procuring in various results. Therefore, I must ask you guys some questions.

Why is that when I fap a few times every other day, I'm normally depressed? Why is it that when I take a week-long break from fapping, I feel ever more depressed? But the second I fap again after a week, I feel more chipper, confident, and upbeat? Why do I continue to feel that way if I limit my fapping to once every other day, maybe once every two days and such? And how much wood, can a woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
