I agree that death isn't as horrific as religion and society make it out to be, however the process of dying most often is.

That being said I'm not too afraid of death however I'd like to avoid it for as long as possible (or until I am "ready").

You always seem to hear scientific people saying that "there comes nothing after death". How can they be so sure about this? Where is their evidence? I mean energy cant be created an destroyed, only converted, so how can something like consciousness be destroyed

What would your estimate be on the % of likeliness that there comes nothing after death?

Is there any advantage to including a high IQ or membership to The Mega Society on a college application? I would think anything that shows aptitude (regardless of exact kind) would help you in the process.

I don't believe in anything supernatural (God). I love knowledge. I legitimized my existence by trying to perpetuate the human species by developing new power sources. I thought that if human beings could become space travelers, we could exist even without Earth. But the Milky Way Galaxy and the Andromeda Galaxy are on a crash course with each other. Theres no way we can escape the chaos and destruction.

So what should I do with life?

Being remembered is worthless because everyone will be dead. Advancing technology is worthless because we can never advance to the point where we can escape the colliding galaxies.

What are your ideals? Why do you do what you do? What do you hope to accomplish?

This comic misses the point for comedic effect. The reality is there will be people who do whatever is necessary to preserve themselves. They will augment their bodies with bionic parts, they will change their diets to reduce the effects of aging, they will get regeneration therapies performed to repair damage, they will treat the diseases they are afflicted with science-based medicine, and they will alter their children's genetics to eliminate genetic disorders.

The people who choose to resist these changes, the people who do not choose to adapt and do everything within their power to do so, will die of age eventually.

Personally, I doubt the ability to transfer consciousness. A copy is not me which is what most upload arguments reduce to. I do not doubt however the ability to under go metamorphosis over time. Replacing parts, augmenting genetic code, and embedding computer architectures to supplement the capabilities of the human nervous system.

I expect eventually, I will either die or I will transform.
