What would be some good places to potentially build a spaceport?

For some reason, the western part of the Hawaiian island of Kahoʻolawe, which is currently uninhabited but protected as a wildlife reserve. Only the western shore of the island would be used as a spaceport, leaving about 80% of the interior still usable to wildlife.

Have you ever gone cursing through google maps looking for locations for hypothetical new spaceports?

One place that stuck out with me is the uninhabited Hawaiian island of Kaho'olawe, which is roughly 100 miles southeast of Honolulu and currently serves as a wildlife refuge. In order to preserve as much of the island's biodiversity as possible, only the western shore of the island should be used for spaceport construction, away from the steeper terrain on the extinct volcano on the eastern side.

Another idea I've had is to gather a bunch of the world's foremost aerospace engineers and rocketry specialists to establish the "Sir Issac Newton Astronautical Academy", which would be a highly exclusive university that specializes in space exploration studies and science. There would be two international campuses, one in America (possibly on or near the aforementioned Kaho'olawe launch site), and another in Russia, preferably near one of their historic launch sites.

I was hoping that a University like this would greatly increase momentum and public interest in manned space exploration.
