Hey /sci/ how do?
Two students stting in adjacent seats in a lecture room have weights of 633 N and 694 N. Assume that Newton's law of universal gravitation can be applied to these two students and find the gravitational force (in Newtons) that one student exerts on the other when they are separated by 0.792 m. Consider entering your answer using scientific notation. And keep the answer in Newtons?

Does anyone know how to disable the WD timer on an NXP 9351 (8051).

I've tried all sorts of WFEED configurations to allow me to disable the timer, but it still restarts and keeps fucking issuing overflow errors or whatever

Any help?

I'm writing this in my drunken stupor thinking about life. Okay, i might just be really drunk and over-analyzing a bunch of shit, but meh, i really feel like writing this.
So i was thinking about life. About my pursuit of the field in engineering and most of my friends in easier, "low tier majors"> They are having the time of their lives in college. I know that may not end up having a better future than /sci/ majors like ourselves. But is that what life is really about?
We want to become sucessful so we can end up giving ourselves the best possible environment to be happy, but what if we don't need that to be happy.
Getting more to the point... what is to be happy?

pic obviously unrelated. im on my friends laptop and i dont have my folders on hand to display a relevant pictuer.

Looking to calculate transforms of like e^-3t etc.

Anyway know any calculators so I can double check answers?

Yo, mathfag failing here. Would anyone be so kind as to help with the following? Converting Differential Equations to polar coordinates bullshit.

Suppose x = r*cos(theta), y = r*sin(theta), r^2 = x^2 + y^2, theta = arctan(y/x)

Show:

r*dr/dt = x*dx/dt + y*dy/dt,
(r^2)*dtheta/dt = x*dy/dt - y*dx/dt

Have to convert a differential system to polar coordinates after that, but I think I can do that on my own once this stuff makes sense.

Penguins always related.

Hey there geeks, nerd here, I was wondering if you can point me to some website tha helps people understand math or books you would recommend.

I want to be a structural engineer, architect that sort of thing. I imagine a good understand of advanced math is necessary.

Algebra 1 is as far as I got. Would be nice to go to my community college and test to see where I am at and not waste time in " Mind over math "

Every few years, the National Assessment of Educational Progress asks a national sample of 17-year-olds to perform the same math tasks. The goal is to get an honest picture of progress in math. Here are the last few national mean scores, on a scale of 0 to 500.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Year 1973 1978 1982 1986 1990 1992 1994 1996 1999

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Score 305 299 300 301 307 309 306 309 306

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(a) Make a time plot of the mean scores, by hand. This is just a scatterplot of score against year. (Do this on paper. Your instructor may ask you to turn this in.)

(b) Find the regression line of mean score on time step-by-step. First calculate the mean and standard deviation of each variable and their correlation (use a calculator with these functions). Then find the equation of the least-squares line from these. = 1-241.33 -241
+ 2.274 0.275
x

Draw the line on your scatterplot. (Do this on paper. Your instructor may ask you to turn this in.) What percent of the year-to-year variation in scores is explained by the linear trend?
340 40.1
%

(c) Now use software or the regression function on your calculator to verify your regression line.

I was watching Nova and they explained how Neanderthals decided to hunt with melee weapons for 300,000 years then we came along with out ranged weapons and hunted all sorts of animals into extinction while Neanderthals continued getting their bones broken for a meal until they went extinct. Yet humans have some Neanderthal genes so that means we are products of bestiality. My question is why did Neanderthals keep using spears instead of ranged weapons? Some homo sapien must have taught one of them or at least done it in their presence and they could have spread that knowledge. Were they too dumb to understand the concept of throwing things? Or did they just lack proper muscles or something?

So imagine the following scenario:

EVERYTHING in the universe was converted to light and placed in a ball in the centre of the universe.

The light within the ball is then released so it forms a shockwave with the light radiating towards infinity in every direction.

What will happen with space where the initial ball was located?

Will you get a perfect vacuum in that space?

Hi to all,
Almost 2 months ago I started my first year at university in Ontario with intention to major in EE. From six courses in my 1st semester (compulsory) Physics II -Mechanics is impossible for me to understand. So far 1 quiz and 1 test i got 20% in each, total failure, total disaster.
I have just one more final exam to write in December and that one counts 30%.

I am doing fine in Calculus I and Linear Algebra.
Is there a hope for me? I guess I will have to repeat that course, or what should I do?
Below is my course description.

Physics II - Mechanics

Newton’s laws, reaction forces, free body diagrams, friction, equilibrium of rigid bodies, torque, centre of gravity, linear and rotational kinematics and dynamics, conservation of linear and angular momentum and energy, moment of inertia, work and power, collisions

Since last night the Anon who helped me with some work didn't want the $5 I was offering I'm putting it up again.

Q1.
$3,500 borrowed one year ago, is to be settled by payments of $500 today, $1,500 six months from now, and a final payment eighteen months from now. What is the amount of the final payment if the interest rate on the loan is 12%.

Q2. A $50,000 GIC will earn $70,000 of interest over its 10-year term. What is the monthly compounded nominal rate of interest?

Q3. Rounded to the nearest month, how long wil lit take for $25,000 to grow to $35,000 at 9% compounded quarterly?

sup /sci/.

Just wondering what a "stability graph" is (in regards to isotopes). I've googled it but it comes up with a fucktonne of different things.

inb4 underage. Yes. I am.

inb4 homework. Yes. It is.

Also, if it helps, here's the question "Distinguish between stable and radioactive isotopes (include a stability graph)" I've done the first part, but I've never actually come across the term "stability graph" before.
