[spoiler]I don't know if this more of an adv problem but I coming here.

I have very little motivation or drive to do much of anything. I procrastinate and make excuses. Examples include working out, attaining knowledge through reading or videos, becoming better socially. Basically I want to change me but I'm to damn lazy. I have some goals but I don't feel like taking the steps to acheive them.

Are people born inherently lazy, like they lack some chemical that helps motivate them?

Is this a psychological issue?

Or am I just a fucking lazy peice of shit? (Is there anyway to overcome being a lazy peice of shit when you lack the drive to actually change?)</spoiler>

Hi /sci/entists! I have a question about equipotential line. For example you have two electrodes that have these equipotential lines http://www.pstcc.edu/departments/natural_behavioral_sciences/E2020D0103.gif

What would happen if you add an excess positive charge. I know that it would move towards the negative electrode but how would it affect the equipotential lines?

/sci/, i need help wit dis shiz

We have an equilateral triangle where each side is 10cm.
In each angle we have a charged dot with +5nC (5*10^-9 C).
Calculate the size and direction of the total force working on one of the charges.

(I hope my english-translation of the problem makes sense.)

I need Chemistry help badly... I am gonna fail this semester if I don't... Please help me out. First I'll start with the supposedly easy stuff..

1. Balance the reactions H2SO4(aq)+NaOh (aq)-->Na2SO4(aq) +_____(I) Then write the Ionic equation, and the Net Ionic equation.

2.K2CO3(aq)+NaOH(aq)-->KNO3(aq)+____(I)+____(g) the ionic equation, then net ionic equation.

2.K2CrO4(aq) +_____(aq) --> AL2(CrO4)3(s)+ KCl(aq) then ionic equation and net ionic equation again..

I will post more as each set of three problems are answered.
Please help.

/sci/ I am 22 and completly forgot how to do algebra 1+Geometry and need to teach myself Algebra 1.

I'm gonna take my SAT so I can go right to a 4 year college instead of doing community college as I have friends at said college.

Could you suggest me some fairly cheap textbooks or whatever to re-educate myself?

Hey /sci/ I have my first real university math exam in a few weeks time, I have to learn 32 definitions plus 73 theorems/propositions/lemmas/corollaries but I didn't attend any of the lectures.

It's not particularly difficult material, and I have the notes (95 pages) to work with.
What would you say the best way to go about learning this is so that I can apply it and remember it all (given the time constraint)?

An example is proof of existence and uniqueness of prime factorisation, it's dull...

An object is placed on a long inclined plane which makes an angle of 25
o
with the
horizontal.
(i) Draw a diagram which shows how the gravitational force may be resolved into two
components, one parallel to the plane, and one normal to the plane. Calculate the
acceleration of the object down the slope. [2 marks]
(ii) The object is released from rest on a section of the plane which is smooth, (i.e. there
is no friction). Determine how long it will take the object to slide a distance of 1.5 m
down the slope. [2 marks]
(iii) Calculate the velocity of the object after it has travelled 1.5 m. [2 marks]
(iv) At this point, the inclined plane becomes rough with a coefficient of kinetic friction
between the object and the plane of 0.60. Determine the position of the object 10 s
later

i just need help with part (iv)
i know how to do the rest...even if you can help with the formula to use that'd be great.

Thanks :)

Hello. I'm working on a problem my chemistry professor gave us but as much as I look through the book or search online I can't figure out to do this one. If someone could direct me to a site thoroughly explaining it or show me how to do it and why you got that answer, I would be incredibly grateful.
The question reads:

What is the maximum number of electrons that can be described by the following sets of quantum numbers? Justify your answer. It is possible for the correct answers to be none. In that case, explain why "none" is the correct answer.
(a) n = 2 and l = 1
(b) n = 4, l = 4, ml = 0, ms = 1/2
(c) n = 3, l = 2, ml = -1

so basically current research suggests that mammals caused the K-T cretacious-cenzoic exctinction and volcanoes in India (deccan traps) and a meteorite impact all at the same time.............whereas with the P-T permian triassic extinction (largest one of - all!!!! 93% dead or something WOW k.o) it was probably also another impact........with the ordovician extinction it was like global cooling/glaciation, frasnian famennian - late devonian extinction caused also by global cooling (dem northern south american glacial deposits) but other theories are plausible and finally......the triassic jurassic exctinction was just some 'going through planetary spiral arms' bullshit.???????????

Could it be that a person may enjoy their life, but commit suicide because they thought death would be better?

Not in terms of some heaven awaiting them. But feeling that, despite the joy that can be obtained in life, death is superior in the fact that in death nothing is wanted, nothing is felt (not even boredom or aversion), nothing is desired. True there is no pleasure, but pleasure is not even wanted. It is irrelevant.

here is the problem:

At what angle are we observing the object?

Fuck how does change of variables work again for integrals

eg. int x*(x-3)^2 let u = x-3;
u+3 * (u)^2

= u^3 + 3u^2
= u^4/4 + u^3 = (x-3)^4 + (x-3)^3. But that doesnt equate when you factor the whole thing out and integrate.

Wolfram says that they're equivalent for restricted x or something. Anyone help me out RQ?
