What do you all think of the 'big crunch' scenario? Also, will there be another big bang after it all is a singularity? Was the big bang an expansion from a singularity or from nothing?

I need a website that can teach me how to do this problem (i'm not giving you the actual problem, but the outline). I dont even know where to begin other than some kind of table.

A students like X, B students like Y, C students like Z. D students like X and Y, E students like Y and Z, F students like X, Y and Z. How many students are there?

Are there any fundamental constants (electron charge, fine structure constant, etc.) in which a change about 5% or less will NOT affect the "normal" day-to-day observable world as we know it? (That is to say, observations within the purview of your average human being without access to laboratory equipment.)

I have a few questions about the universe (multiverse if you prefer) that I believe /sci/ would be able to answer. Put on your thinking caps!

At what rate did the universe expand during the big bang? I know this is just a theory, but I'm interested in knowing. It relates to Einstein's theories.

Why do we believe the universe has an "edge"

Why do we believe that the universe has to be "contained"? I say this in a sense that gas can be contained in a canister, so the universe has to be contained in something.

^is this where we came up with string theory? The universe isn't necessarily contained but there are alternate universes that run(and act) alongside ours, forcing ours into a sort of fixed position amongst the others?

Hey, non-atheist. Since the universe is only driven by few forces, mostly by gravity, why do you believe there is a guy who made this all? We are just another "civilization" that was developed thanks to stable piece of ore rounding around flaming hydrogen-helium ball. There must be plenty of civilizations everywhere. It isn't question of where, but when. We was able study space just only 100 years. We also all die pretty soon. But there was billions of year to develop somewhere else...) Why do you believe in religion or something similar? (thx to Christ™ and his fellas who had an idea that they can manage people and take money from millions of them for thousands years for sharing some restrictive rules and forbidding almost everything)
No they don't established this first, they just copied it over and over from other parts of the world.
------------
Today we see everywhere Coca-Cola (in ad in TV they say that Coca-Cola = Happiness at family table(yes, Czech Republic year 2011) But they are selling practically sugared-acid-poison). We see Lady Gaga selling XYZ millions copies of crap. We see Apple conquering world with idea of pointless touching glass and consuming others people videos/texts/games...
-------
Why we don't do anything with that? We can ban them, or do anything else to them. It's another religion that leads nowhere. People are sad because their lives are driven by money and ways of getting them or not. When they get money, they immediately spend it on another thing that distract them for a while and make them interesting for others...
This world is fucked.

oh hi guys, im going to be doing some physics revision, and will be dumping questions which i can't answer, help me out!

During the period of inflation, the universe expanded by about 10 43 times its former scale. This does not violate Einstein‟s postulate that “objects cannot exceed the speed of light” because;

(A) Einstein‟s postulate does not apply to gravitational fields
(B) The universe was only forming and so the laws of physics were incomplete
(C) Space expanded faster than light speed, rather than light exceeding its limit
(D) The universe was so small that light could travel at any speed

Thought this is something you guys might appreciate. I don't come to this board often, so I'm not sure whether or not this has already been posted..

Basically, a man quit his job, travels 96500km (60000 miles), took 37000 pictures of space, and joined them all into a single interactive 3D panorama.

Geometryfag reporting in. I just found out the ten dimensions to reality.

1st Dimension: A Line. Length.
2nd Dimension: Length + Width. A Flatlander.
3rd Dimension: (What we live in) Length + Width + Depth. A Fold in the second dimension from one point to another.

4th Dimension: Time. Our whole future and our whole past depicted as if we keep on doing what we are doing right now for the rest of our lives.
5th Dimension: The multiverse (Alternate Universes). All of our different possible outcomes based on all our possible actions at one point in the past.
6th Dimension: Folding through one multiverse to another, being able to travel to alternate dimensions without having to affect our actions in the past.

7th Dimension: Infinity. The very start of our lives (The start of the universe) to the very end and ALL possible outcomes at ANY given point in time.
8th Dimension: Two infinities. The start and end of a universe with all possibilities, to the infinity of another universe that started out differently.
9th Dimension: A fold from one infinity to another, the different infinities led to by another infinity.

10th Dimension: Infinity Infinities. The End?

For those of you who didn't get it, here's a video that might help you out a bit

Wouldn't it make sense to say that man will never get it right?

We can contemplate and study how the universe occurred, but how can we get it right? Getting it right would mean we would use 'it' to our advantage and that could have implications on everything that exists. Surely the universe would stop itself from imploding, right?

are any of you known with Laurence Gardner? the man who probably taught us how edward leedskalnin built coral castle...

according to this guy the palace of king solomon with stone blocks weighing 20.000 was build using an extract of gold which changes weight according to warmth, which can actually turn weight upside down, thus levitating objects.

according to this man history is taught wrong and instead of trying to create gold, alchemists during the middle ages could create matter out of gold which was called the philosophers stone.

it's said that in egypt they even found storages full of stardust and that the people worshipped the scientists who knew anti gravity.
actually their scientists were builders, and instead of worshipping gods, they did workship.

the pyramids were also supposedly build in 20 years, which would have required placing 1.1 blocks in their final resting place every two minutes...
