It depends on what you want.

You can create great algorithms for exact, small problems. You can even beat a human with many tasks.

But what makes our intelligence so outstanding is it's multifunctionality. There are quite a lot of systems working in our brain which are autonomous and related to each other.

Teaching a computer what is "funny" is a hell lot of work, because it requires a lot of pattern matching and probabilities as well as creativity.

"Hey, what's up man?"
"The sky and the ceiling."

You can maybe build computers that recognize this as a joke, but it's a different story to recognize "the dude is now telling me a joke because I told him I'm upset" in a regular conversation:

"knock knock whos there?"
"my uncle died"
"oh shit, I'm sorry."
"no, just kidding"
"what's wrong with you, man! that's not funny"

this conversation requires:
a) understanding that someone's death is more important than finishing the joke
b) reconfiguring your "emotional setup" to react adequately
c) understanding how and why this is not funny

under slightly differnt circumstances the whole conversation would have had a complety differnt meaning. You can't just make up a rule, it's more like a very complex ruleset that changes with every moment.

/sci/, please listen to my story.

I have been recently behaving schizo, really since the middle of 8th grade. I am going into 10th grade this coming september. Yesterday, I took a lot of Molly. This is supposedly short for MOLecular ecstasY, saying that it is pure and uncut. Anyway I took two Very large points of it and smoked a lot of weed. That in combination with my schizo allowed me to do this i believe.
I ended up drawing my social circle on five large pieces of paper. My papers were incredibly detailed. There were 5 dimensions to it. Up/down showed how far into the bad crowed they were in, left to right was where they where physically proportionate to each other, there was a foreground and a background witch represented people that don't have much roots in my social circle, how large your name was represented social standing, and how far from those names you were in combination of your size showed influence. Between each person I used the appropriate social tie(s), including both the one that actually was and the ones that each person involved perceived the tie as. There were people who wanted to help out a friend, people who wanted to be helped, people who owed money/drugs, people who were being used (sexually or mentally), and supports between people.
Point of this is.
I figured out I've accidentally been making a gang. And I don't think you guys can do anything, but please, your the only people who aren't in anyway related to this and i want to hear what you think. Something. Please

When we've started being able to make true artificial intelligence by manipulating salts and creating synthetic neurons, and actual making brains out of silicone, people will look back on today's "strong AI" movement and view it as the alchemy of the 20th century.

Not saying it's stupid to believe in Strong AI, Newton believed in alchemy. But, you know...

I'm 22 and I plan on restoring my foreskin naturally.

Will all the sensitivity I lost come back and will it look natural and feel and be like it was always there and never been circumcised?
