Sup /sci/, has anyone here acquired a PhD or in the process of acquiring one?

I'm currently studying for a degree in audio engineering, and currently in the process of applying for an MSc in Audio acoustics to study once I have completed my degree.

If all goes well I would like to take my education further with a PhD but I can't justify it at the moment. Are the long term benefits there in a PhD? Will my salary in the longterm benefit from a PhD or do people do it for that warm fuzzy feeling inside?

Also what makes you anons yearn for an MSc, PhD, or other?
