If you think you have ADHD, go somewhere and be honest about them with wanting to get tested. They'll either do psychiatric evaluations discussing your history and how symptoms may or may not have impacted your upbringing/social life/education. Loss of focus in certain areas is a big one, but there's other factors too. Mine specifically was being unable to pay attention in math classes and my brain legit felt like it was going to spaghetti (except for physics and geometry). Sometimes they'll just do talking sessions or they'll do testing like the TOVA test, sometimes a combo of both. Just be honest and open.
I went to a psych once though and they said I have bipolar disorder, not ADHD. I'd never been suggested as having that before so I went to a different psych for a second opinion and they agreed that doctor was just trying to push mood stabilizers on me.
Therapy can also help ADHD, not just medications, but a combination of both is very effective.
