The fact that our surface is very small and not suited to capurre light very good makes it worse.

The reason we make fun of engineers is because they have a weak understanding of fundamentals and instead spend their time on plug and chug mathematical equations (formally known as "chugging cock").

I'd recommend taking Real & Complex Analysis, or at least some kind of analysis so that you can get a deeper understanding of calculus. Walter Rudin's book on this is legendary.

Beyond that it's really up to what you do with your knowledge.
