lol wut? no, i'm an atheist.
religious people are the arrogant 'holier than thou' types, and were also the ones who believed in witches, when in fact they were burning innocent young women to death. I'd have never participated, i'd have opposed them if it happened in my time.

Some people can perhaps be convinced, i can explain why christianity is highly improbable, which might be enough to convert someone from it, which might be enough for them to not do stupid horrible things because of religion. its worth the effort in the long run, even just encouraging people to think about it and to think critically is a bonus.
>And try to learn more languages first before attacking someones almost perfect English, retard.
lol wut, nigger? I don't need to speak any other language than english to criticise someones english. Just as I don't need to have a PhD in rocket science to know when someone is fucking shite at zoology.

I would rather live a life free of ignorance, where I treat my fellow men with respect. Where I dont cast them away for having a different belief, Where I dont wage wars because of a he/said-she/said squabble involving strips of land/birthplaces/burials/tea consumption/[insert whatever the fuck you want here]/etc.; Where we live in commonality and understand that to have a plentiful life we must embrace KNOWLEDGE, not fantasy. Where we look to the stars and we admire not only their beauty but also acknowledge their sacrifice. Where we can look in each others eyes and not turn a poor person away because he cant feed or clothe himself.

Regardless of wtf you think, THIS IS WHAT CHRIST WANTED. You clearly didnt read everything if you think it was all for YOU you selfish arrogant egotistical fuck. I know for a fact Christians are the worst kinds of people because of the abhorrent pandering they promote, when they should be helping humanity and not prejudging in the name of a absentee judge.

You all make me sick.

indeed
although it was my understanding that buddism has no deity, and is more a 'way of life' than a religion, and probably should not even be grouped with religions at all.

I can tell you why from both perspectives - I was a Theist and now an Atheist. Its important that you view things in their light (Theists). For them things arent quantified by how much you see or feel; They want to establish emotional connections with god. This works astoundingly well in maintaining their followers, think about it very hard... If you develop an emotional connection with another Father/Mother like figure, You WILL remain with such for an astounding amount of time. The issue is compounded when it is instilled in early youth development. Its very hard to shake the emotional foundation you establish with Theism because its almost like lying to yourself... not wholly knowing you were the one initially being lied to. Atheists however place things in a far too optimistic setting, which is why Theists are skeptical. Im not saying its wrong... Or bad. Theists just need someone/something to give them care and love despite the adversities and hardship. And to know someone cares for them, even if it is only themselves inversely tricking themselves into a delusion.

>actually its not a scientific fact, not even close to being a valid theory either
you are wrong
it is a scientific theory. scientific theories are made up of facts.
>im not going argue creation with you because i dont care about it
do you believe in creationism? did god make the universe or not?
>thats why they try to find a way to make everything be explained through random or natural causes.
never random. but natural, yes.
the only other explanation is supernatural, which is by definition unknown, so it doesnt help us. just a spiritual/magical 'i dunno' dressed up as 'magic man dun it!'
its just a geuss, no science or reason behind it at all.
>for everyone else though, there are a myriad of possibilities.
sorry, for everyone else except atheists?
lol, no there isn't, they believe in 1 possibility, that god magically makes everything, from nothing, and has magically always existed, and is hiding for some reason, and never shows any evidence that he exists for some reason....makes perfect sense.

This is the universe as the way I see it, OP.
The fact that an all-knowing all-omnipotent god doesn't even interact in the world is like playing "I'm not touching you" on a cosmic scale.
With the physical evidence of his absence, and with our observations of science (that they cannot be created or destroyed), leaves no room for god to create the universe. Universal patterns simply point in that direction. Go ahead and believe in your silly delusions, if you wish. I think you're simply scared of death.
Remember this, though. We know as a fact that in history, when people wouldn't understand things like thunder and lightning and rain and stars, people would use a supernatural explanation, since they couldn't provide a natural one. This started the primitive belief in gods. Eventually, this belief was used to manipulate the mass public. This is a very strong argument from an athiest's perspective. You'll have a tough time disproving that christianity wasn't one of these phenomenons.
