4chan science:

Would a 1-day ban on anyone who gets doubles improve a particular board? Would it matter if there were a flood of "check 'em"s?

Hey /sci/, I was watching the Daily Show last night and it got me wondering. Why is it a pittance when we tax the wealthy to raise 700 billion dollars over the next ten years to help control debt, but it's super important to cut funding to public radio (what, a few million?). He then cut to talking heads suggesting that it was crazy to not tax the bottom 50%. Jon then ran a calculation and showed that if we taxed the bottom fifty percent 50% of everything they own (not marginal income---everything), we'd raise about... 700 billion dollars.

Why are republicans so ignorant and hateful of America? I thought they liked the better times of post-WWII america where the marginal tax rate was so high. What gives today?
