Why are people happier with being emotionally manipulated instead of being told the truth in a non-offensive yet honest way?

I know the answer is that people are stupid and emotion driven, but I assume there is a small chance I am wrong. Am I?

/sci/, I have a C++ question for you programmers out there. Wasn't sure whether to ask this on here or /adv/, but this seemed to be more focused for this field.

So I'm learning the basics about pointer variables right now in C++, and we're supposed to create a "color memory" game as part of an assignment.

Copy of the code I have so far:
http://pastebin.com/yiaesT0J

TL;DR, it creates up to 5 random-colored boxes in a graphics window, then clears it after 1-3 seconds determined by the user.

After this it displays the same 5 colors in a different order below, as buttons to click. The player is to click the color that corresponds with the left-most color from the first set.

This is where I'm running into my problems; it's supposed to be able to determine whether the color is correct or incorrect, and I have no idea how to do so. After that it's more or less trial and error.

Are morals scientific. Necessary part of society encoded into our dna. Or are they unnecessary and completely subjective.

Theoretically speaking, what would two time dimensions involve?
what would a world with 3 dimensions for direction and 2 for time be like?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, I was just wondering
