If you were in middle/high school what would you want to see in an instructional animated math series on youtube?

Im pretty good at drawing and animating, and I love math, so Ive been wanting to do this for a long time. And i want to explain things from an analytical and logical perspective, as opposed to mindlessly following rules. I want to start with algebra and work my way up from there.

What things would make it interesting (such as applications in various fields, history, etc...)? And what useful things do you wish you had learned at an earlier age?

Any advice on self-teaching mathematics?

I just finished calc III with an A, but I feel like I was just studying to pass the tests and I don't feel like I have as firm an understanding as I would like. I've tried teaching myself in the past I never stick with it because when life gets busy I always drop it in favour of stuff I have to do.

How can I keep myself chugging along through a book?
